You swept out memories, wrote a manuscript of dreams
I went thirty minutes without thinking of her
I had coffee and cigarettes alone at four AM
I went thirty minutes without thinking of her

I took
Where's My DiagnosisHow many times
have I stepped to the edge
opting for that dreamer's
leap of faith?

As if my landing
would somehow cure my woes,
without leaving behind
the taste of gasoline.

Forever searching
like a fool in the dark
seeking a dream
I have not dreamt;

Searching for something
that may truly be nothing,
trying to fill spaces
between.

Lost without destination;
missing without pieces; I am
aimlessly discontent.

I wonder what you see
when you look to me
through open windows,
when all I see in the mirror
is a mess.

So where's my diagnosis?
Surely they've created a disorder for this,
something with a cure
to s

internally dwelling creatures

That final line is absolute perfection. Was it the kind that when you wrote it down you just experienced that sudden moment of profound satisfaction with a fragment of writing? It would have been for me!

The ending "felt right" to me, and it *was* satisfying. Then again, I seem to have recurring metaphor I use of drowning. I won't even guess what that means. ;)

Oh....wow. Beautiful. Love the nautical theme, although saying that for something as soft and beautiful as this feels weird. Last two lines finish it off wonderfully - and now I have a funny ache in my chest (a good one). Thank you!

I seem to have a thing from ending poems with drowning. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. ;)
